Confidentiality and Supplier Access

How Uretyco should limit supplier access, protect confidential project data, and handle special confidentiality requirements.

Overview

Manufacturing requires sharing enough technical information for suppliers to quote, produce, inspect, and deliver the part. Confidentiality controls define who can access that information, why they need it, and what restrictions apply to use or disclosure.

Supplier access basics

  • Suppliers should receive only the project information needed for the requested quote or production task.
  • Access can include CAD, drawings, material, finish, quantity, inspection notes, and delivery-related information.
  • Highly sensitive projects should be identified before quote review so Uretyco can evaluate supplier restrictions.
  • If an NDA or special agreement is required, it should be handled before sensitive files are broadly reviewed.

Confidentiality levels

NeedPossible approach
Standard commercial projectNormal platform confidentiality and limited supplier access.
Sensitive prototypeRestrict supplier pool and share only necessary technical information.
Named supplier restrictionReview feasibility before quoting or production assignment.
Regulated or export-sensitive dataDo not upload until legal, compliance, and supplier requirements are confirmed.
NDA-required projectUse the appropriate contractual process before supplier disclosure.

Customer responsibilities

  • Confirm you have the right to upload and manufacture the design.
  • Remove unnecessary confidential annotations that are not needed for production.
  • Flag confidentiality, supplier restriction, country restriction, or regulated-use concerns early.
  • Do not include personal data in CAD notes unless it is necessary for the order.

Repeat orders

Repeat orders may benefit from stored project knowledge, supplier history, and approved production routes. If confidentiality requirements change between orders, update the project notes before requoting.

FAQ

  • Can I restrict who sees my project? State the restriction before quoting so feasibility can be reviewed.
  • Do suppliers need all files? They need enough to quote or produce correctly; unnecessary files should not be shared.
  • Can Uretyco sign an NDA? NDA handling depends on business process and legal review.
