PEEK is the polymer that competes with metals on performance. Continuous service to 260 °C, excellent chemical resistance, and good machinability make it the choice when no other plastic survives. The catch: stock cost is 10-15x ABS.

Typical applications
- Aerospace brackets and fluid components.
- Medical implants (Implantable PEEK is a separate grade).
- Oil and gas valve seats.
- Semiconductor handling parts that see plasma.
Medical implant applications use a separate grade qualified per ASTM F2026. Standard PEEK is not implantable; consult Uretyco's regulatory note in the data privacy section if you need implantable material.
Specifying it on Uretyco
- 1Pick PEEK from the dropdown
Standard grade; carbon-filled (CF-PEEK) and glass-filled variants available.
- 2Plan stock lead time
PEEK rod and plate occasionally on backorder; expect a few extra days.
- 3Specify Implantable grade for medical
ASTM F2026 is required for in-body use.
- 4Use sharp tooling
Diamond or carbide; PEEK is abrasive.
